It all began on April 8, 1975, when a group of guys from Houma and Thibodaux, La. decided they wanted more from a fraternity than they could get with the organizations on the Nicholls campus and became a formal colony of Acacia Fraternity. It ended a few years later when we realized that most of us had dropped out of school for good paying jobs in the oil field. That, and the fact that we didn't have the cumulative grade point average required to keep us on campus, led us to close our doors sometime in 1979. (No one is really sure when. We drank a lot in those days.)
Although our memories are vague, we do recall that we had fun during the three years the colony was on campus. Most of us have kept in touch over the past 20 years, but there are some we've lost track of, so we've put this page together to try to jog our memories and possibly find some long, lost brothers in the process.
